Oratory Beata Vergine from Loreto – Casterno In 1773 by the will of the priest Don Antonio Rovelasca this oratory was built to accommodate the mortal remains of the priests of the community of Casterno.

Starting from the thirties, the church was intended as a shrine for the victims of the First World War and subsequently the gravestones engraved with the names of the fallen and the missing of the second world war were placed here.

Inside the shrine, in the niche above the altar is placed a statue of the Blessed Virgin of Loreto that was originally placed in the church of S. Anna in Carpenzago , historically been erected and managed by the Fathers Mortariensi.

The dark wood statue, rather coarse in its features, dates back to the XVI century. It may be further noted that on each of the side walls there are paintings realized on tin ( Burial and crowning with thorns). This shrine, closed to the public for more than twenty years because of its unfitness for use, was restored and reopened in 2013.
